Earlier today, gameplay footage was leaked for Crash Team Rumble, and now we have an official announcement of the game.
Toys for Bob, the video game developer responsible for the critically acclaimed Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, is releasing a new game this June that is sure to delight fans of the iconic bandicoot. Crash Team Rumble is a team-based online multiplayer game that pits players against each other in a race to collect and score Wumpa fruit.
Crash Team Rumble boasts colorful and chaotic maps inspired by the Crash universe and familiar characters like Coco, Cortex, Tawna, and more. Each character has their distinct power, personality, and playstyle that fits into one of three roles: Scorer, Blocker, or Booster. Players can switch between characters during matches to adapt to different situations and strategies.
The game’s objective is to collect and score Wumpa fruit to the team’s bank, defend the banks, prevent enemies from scoring, capture gems, and activate Relic Stations that give the team an advantage. The game will feature seasonal events and limited-time modes to keep gameplay fresh and fun.
Crash Team Rumble’s standard edition will cost $29.99 and it will include the premium battle pass for season one. The deluxe edition, which includes the premium battle pass for season two, exclusive skins, and a banner, will cost $39.99. The game will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with cross-play support.
For fans who can’t wait to get their hands on the game, Toys for Bob is offering a closed beta from April 20th to April 24th. Players who pre-order the game will get access to the beta, where they can play with five heroes (Crash, Coco, Dingodile, Cortex, and Tawna) on three different maps with different powers.
