The much-anticipated FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster series is set to launch on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 19, 2023. The console release promises an even more immersive experience than the original PC and mobile versions, thanks to a range of new features.
The Pixel Remaster series features the first six FINAL FANTASY games, updated with stunning 2D pixel graphics, reimagined soundtracks supervised by original composer Nobuo Uematsu, and improved gameplay options such as modernized user interfaces and auto-battle capabilities. The games will be available for digital purchase individually or as a collection, which includes FINAL FANTASY I through VI.
Console players can expect additional features, including the ability to switch between original and rearranged soundtracks, choose between two font styles, disable random encounters, and adjust experience gains up to four times the normal rate. These enhancements cater to both veteran players and newcomers to the classic FINAL FANTASY series.
The FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster series includes the following titles:
- FINAL FANTASY – The first installment of the iconic series.
- FINAL FANTASY II – Introduces the proficiency system and chocobos.
- FINAL FANTASY III – The debut of the job system and summons.
- FINAL FANTASY IV – Features the powerful narrative and Active Time Battle system.
- FINAL FANTASY V – Expands on the ATB system and offers a more diverse job system.
- FINAL FANTASY VI – Set in a world where magic has vanished, it is acclaimed for its engaging story and setting.
To purchase the FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster series, all six games will be available digitally on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Buyers can choose to purchase each game individually or as a complete series in the FINAL FANTASY I – VI BUNDLE.
Pre-orders for the Switch version are now open, with two themed wallpapers available for each game purchased by May 25, 2023. Buyers of the complete series will receive all 12 wallpapers. The PS4 version will be available for purchase at a later date. Players who buy the games digitally on PS4 between April 19 and May 25, 2023, will receive a theme and avatar for each title purchased. Those who purchase the complete series will receive all six themes and six avatars.
