Mega Man 11 was the last mainline game in the series that launched almost 4 years ago and while it was a success, there hasn’t been a new sequel released so far.
This might change soon according to a new rumor that suggests that the blue bomber might make its return in time for the 35th-anniversary event. This appears to be the speculation so far based on the discovery of an updated domain that is related to Mega Man 12.
When Mega Man 11 was launched in 2018, Capcom registered multiple domains for the franchise from 11 to 15. This might not be news in itself but they have recently made changes to the domain as well. All of this is happening just ahead of the 35th Anniversary of the game which suggests that they might be aiming at an announcement of a new game.
Mega Man 11 had reportedly sold more than 1.6 million copies thus becoming not only the best-selling game in the franchise but also the fastest-selling one so far without a major re-release. It was available on pretty much all major platforms including the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The game was released worldwide for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in October 2018. The game was ported to Amazon Luna on September 9, 2021. It brings back various features from past games, such as voice acting and a 2.5D visual style.
