Outward: Definitive Edition has been rated for the Nintendo Switch by the Taiwan Rating Board. Developed by Canadian studio Nine Dots and published by Deep Silver, the game has already made its mark on platforms such as PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, Google Stadia, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
This immersive RPG features both local split-screen and online multiplayer options, focusing on survival aspects and the player’s role as an ordinary adventurer instead of a conventional hero. The Definitive Edition, launched in May 2022, brought with it two downloadable content (DLC) expansions, The Soroboreans, and The Three Brothers, alongside several quality-of-life enhancements.
In Outward, players must navigate the treacherous world of Aurai, facing threats from both dangerous creatures and harsh environmental conditions. The game emphasizes the importance of meeting basic needs, such as sleep and hydration, while undertaking missions and exploring hidden dungeons teeming with formidable foes.
Outward: Definitive Edition allows gamers to tackle its challenges either solo or cooperatively, with local split-screen or online multiplayer options. The game also introduces a City Building Mechanic, enabling players to contribute to the reconstruction of the Refugee Camp into New Sirocco, as well as an Enchantment System that allows for weapon, armor, and trinket enhancement through more than 85 enchantment recipes.
There is no official announcement regarding this port, but knowing that it was rated recently, an announcement may be due soon.
