META Publishing and Owlcat Game’s isometric role-playing game, Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous, may be set to receive a native PS5 port, based on the latest information.
Sales tracker website PS Deals has added a listing for a PS5 version of Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous, suggesting that the game may be receiving a native port in the near future. The page also mentions a release date of March 14, 2024.
Given that PS Deals gets its information from the PlayStation Store back-end, it’s seems very likely that a PS5 version of Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous does indeed exist. As of writing, no announcement has been made by the game’s developer. If the listed release date is accurate, it appears that the PS5 port will simply be shadow dropped on the PlayStation Store.
It’s unclear what improvements over the PS4 version, if any, the PS5 port will come with. Differences in image quality and performance are to be expected, though support for some of the DualSense controller’s features would certainly be welcome.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous’ story is set in Mendev, a country engaged in a series of wars against the Worldwound, a magical portal enabling demons to invade the mortal world from their realm in the Abyss. These conflicts, known as crusades, have been struggling due to demons reincarnating in the Abyss upon death in the mortal realm.
Players assume the role of a citizen from the city of Kenabres, situated on Mendev’s outskirts. Surviving a demonic assault on the city, the player-character discovers mysterious “mythic powers” of unknown origin. After repelling the demons from Kenabres, they are appointed as the Commander of the Fifth Crusade by Queen Galfrey of Mendev. As the Commander, players lead armies against demonic forces while seeking ways to seal the Worldwound. They reclaim territories from demons and gather allies for their cause.
