Persona 5 Royal is out later this year for the Nintendo Switch, and the game’s file size appears to be much smaller than the PS4 version.
Since the Nintendo Switch is limited to carts, Atlus may have decided to compress audio and video cutscenes featured in Persona 5 Royal to fit the game into a smaller cart, as the higher-sized cart also means an increased cost in the production of the game.
Regardless of the circumstances around the smaller size, it has been reported that Persona 5 Royal is just 12.5 GB on the Nintendo Switch. This is almost 3x smaller than the PS4 version which stands at 35.17 GB. This doesn’t include the game’s file size after any potential updates or downloadable content is installed.
Persona 5 Royal is an expanded version of the original Persona 5 with a new scenario and the addition of downloadable content. It will be released on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, and PS5 in October.
Persona 5 Royal is available now for the PS4 but this is the first time a game from the Persona series is making its way to a Nintendo platform.
