Square Enix has recently announced that starting April 5th, 2023, they will begin charging for the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Anniversary Edition. This suggests that the console version of the Pixel Remaster might launch sometime in mid-April.
Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Anniversary Edition is an exclusive set that includes the physically packaged version of the Final Fantasy I-VI Collection, which is available in limited quantities on the Square Enix Store.
The set also includes an Anniversary Edition Goods Box, which contains a vinyl record set featuring newly arranged game music, a specially compiled artbook showcasing beautiful character pixel art, 8 stylized pixel art character figures, and a bonus lenticular sleeve for the game package.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series brings to life the games that inspired a generation, with updated 2D pixel graphics and a beautifully rearranged soundtrack in a faithful Final Fantasy style. The gameplay has also been improved with modernized UI and additional features such as a beastiary, illustration gallery, and music player, allowing players to further immerse themselves in the world of the game.
The bundle featuring all six of the Pixel Remaster games is available to purchase now on Steam, and fans who purchase the bundle will receive all soundtracks and wallpapers from Final Fantasy 1 to 6. It wasn’t released on consoles which is why fans have been eagerly anticipating a release date announcement.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series is tentatively scheduled for release on consoles on May 31st, although the exact launch date has yet to be revealed. To ensure that fans receive their Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster – FF35TH Anniversary Edition in time for launch, Square Enix will start taking payments on April 5th.
