Pedro Pascal has finished filming his part in HBO and Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Season 2 of The Last of Us TV series, based on the latest report.
According to Twitter/X influencer and writer DanielRPK (via), Pedro Pascal has wrapped up his work on Season 2 of The Last of Us TV series. As we already know, the second season focuses on the events of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2. If you haven’t played the game and would prefer to head into Season 2 spoiler-free, stop reading here.
One of the series’ protagonists, Joel, meets his gruesome end in the opening hour of The Last of Us Part 2. Abby, a character introduced in the game’s prologue, gets revenge on Joel for killing her father, one of the doctors who were to operate on Ellie in pursuit of a cure to the pandemic towards the end of The Last of Us Part 1 and Season 1 of the TV series.
Season 2 of The Last of Us will focus on the resultant conflict between Ellie and Abby, as Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, looks to get revenge on Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever, for what she did to Joel, played by Pedro Pascal. The story will focus on the underlying theme of the viscous cycle of revenge, and its consequences in a post-apocalyptic world.
As such, Pedro Pascal will mainly be present in the first episode of Season 2, and will likely also have brief appearances via flashback sequences similar to those seen in the game. It doesn’t come as a surprise that his part in the second season has already been finished.
The Last of Us Part II is a 2020 action adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It serves as a sequel to 2013’s The Last of Us, set five years later in a post-apocalyptic United States. The game follows two main characters: Ellie, seeking revenge for a murder, and Abby, a soldier caught in a conflict between her militia and a religious cult. The game is played from a third-person perspective, with players engaging in combat against human enemies and zombie-like creatures using firearms, crafted weapons, and stealth tactics.
