New Features and Differences in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe
One of the significant new features in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is the addition of emotes. The game now includes an easier difficulty setting called “Helper Magolor,” allowing Magolor to appear during stages and toss Kirby helpful items, including a potion that doubles his health, and Ability Stars during boss battles. The game also introduces a Missions board, which can be viewed in Merry Magoland, and includes 100 objectives.
New Enemies, Copy Abilities, and Collectibles
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe features new enemies and copy abilities that have been dispersed throughout the regular stages, replacing previous enemies and/or copy essences in certain instances. The game also includes additional collectibles, such as Stamp Tickets, and two new Challenge Stages for the newly added Mecha and Sand copy abilities.
Other Notable Changes
The game has amiibo functionality, allowing the player to scan in figures to get items during stages. The True Arena adds six bosses from Magolor Epilogue, and the control settings menu has been updated to show options that were not available in the original game. Kirby and friends now have the ability to swim and use the Water Gun diagonally, and existing bosses have increased HP compared to their counterparts in the original Kirby’s Return to Dream Land.
Improved Graphics and Sound
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe has undergone significant improvements in graphics and sound, with more defined sprites, increased detail and contrast, and improved animations. The game now has new languages available, including Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
New Sub-Games and Epilogue
The game adds several new sub-games in the new Merry Magolor theme park, including a selection of mini-games and a place to look through and try on masks. The biggest addition to Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is the new epilogue, Magolor’s Epilogue, which unlocks when the base game is completed, adding four new levels and a boss stage.
