Square Enix today announced that the six titles of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 (PS4), Steam, iOS, and Android devices, have surpassed two million units shipped and downloaded worldwide in total.
Initially released on Steam, iOS, and Android devices in 2021 and 2022, and more recently this year on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, comprising Final Fantasy I through Final Fantasy VI, brings all the magic of the originals combined with quality-of-life upgrades while staying faithful to the retro design of these classic masterpieces.
All six titles in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series are available for digital purchase individually or as a complete series in the Final Fantasy I-VI Bundle from the PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop, Steam, the App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon App Store.
The highly anticipated Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series launched on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on April 19, 2023. The console release promises an even more immersive experience than the original PC and mobile versions, thanks to a range of new features.
The Pixel Remaster series features the first six Final Fantasy games, updated with stunning 2D pixel graphics, reimagined soundtracks supervised by original composer Nobuo Uematsu, and improved gameplay options such as modernized user interfaces and auto-battle capabilities. The games are available for digital purchase individually or as a collection, which includes Final Fantasy I through VI.
Additional features include the ability to switch between original and rearranged soundtracks, choose between two font styles, disable random encounters, and adjust experience gains up to four times the normal rate. These enhancements cater to both veteran players and newcomers to the classic Final Fantasy series.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series includes the following titles:
- Final Fantasy – The first installment of the iconic series.
- Final Fantasy II – Introduces the proficiency system and chocobos.
- Final Fantasy III – The debut of the job system and summons.
- Final Fantasy IV – Features the powerful narrative and Active Time Battle system.
- Final Fantasy V – Expands on the ATB system and offers a more diverse job system.
- Final Fantasy VI – Set in a world where magic has vanished, it is acclaimed for its engaging story and setting.
To purchase the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, all six games are available digitally on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Buyers can choose to purchase each game individually or as a complete series in the Final Fantasy I – VI Bundle.
