According to Emily Rogers, Nintendo is working on a remake/remaster of the Metroid Prime Trilogy, with a release date of 2022.
Metroid Prime Trilogy is one of the Nintendo Switch rumours that has circulated since the console’s release in 2017. It was intended to be released in 2019, 2020, but now we’re hearing that it may be delayed until 2022.
According to Emily Rogers, Nintendo is working on Metroid Prime 1 ahead of the series’ 20th-anniversary celebration next year. There is a Nintendo Direct scheduled for today, so an announcement might take place there if this is accurate.
She speculates that this may imply either a remaster or remake of the original game for the Nintendo Switch, or that the entire trilogy would be remastered and published on the Nintendo Switch. The possible launch date is 2022.
